The
practice was founded in
1979 by Charles C. Crumley
following a successful
career as Managing
Partner of Arthur Young
& Company's Atlanta
office. The original
firm, Bankruptcy Examiners,
Inc. was succeeded by Crumley
Consulting Group, Inc. in 1994.
The
firm has
substantial experience as
a Court-Appointed Trustee
and Examiner, as
Accountant for
Court-Appointed Trustees
and Examiners, as
Accountant for Debtors,
as Accountant for Secured
Creditors, and as
Accountant for Consumer
and General Unsecured
Creditors' Committees.
Although
the firm can undertake to
perform the regular CPA
audit and attest
function, it seldom does.
By focusing on the role
of accountants for
insolvency needs, the
firm can
concentrate on applying
its unique knowledge and
experience in bankruptcy
and insolvency matters, leaving
the routine audit
functions to accountants who
are more interested in
applying classical CPA
services.
Because
insolvency and bankruptcy
have unique tax aspects,
the firm has developed an
expertise in this area to
supplement its general
financial/bankruptcy
practice.
